    • Remembering Our Loved Ones on Valentine's Day
      Thursday, February 4, 2016

February 14 can be a difficult day for those of us who are grieving, and for some it will be the first Valentine's Day without the loved one. We would like to offer you free heart with flower seeds as a permanent growing memorial in your garden, please stop by at the funeral home to pick up the heart. Death ends a life, but it does not end the relationship we have with our loved ones who have died. This Valentine's Day please find a way to honor your loved ones, to remember them and to show them that your love is eternal. How can you celebrate Valentine's Day: Buy a special candle to light in honor of your loved one. Buy a Valentine card that you wish your beloved would have picked for you, and mail it to yourself Plant a tree or flowers as a permanent growing memorial Write a special note, letter, poem, wish or prayer to your beloved Purchase a book on grief and loss and donate it to your local library or school with an inscribed label "In memory of [your loved one's name]." Give yourself a gift from your loved one that you always wished he or she would have given you, and think of your loved one whenever you wear it or use it. If you are harboring bad feelings or regrets write down on a paper and burn it saying goodbye to those feelings. Celebrate the life of your loved one by continuing the old traditions or create a new tradition for this day. Read more
