Henryk Adam Mostek

Henryk Adam Mostek, 67 of Chestnut Ridge, New York passed away peacefully on June 2, 2022. He was born July 14, 1954 in Sklabmierz, Poland to Jozef and Cecylia. He grew up loving to play soccer and gardening, which were his passions throughout his life. He had great dance moves which he passed down to his daughters and later his granddaughter. In 1972 He graduated from trade technical school and worked as a CNC Operator. He met his wife through mutual friends and they were married for almost 42 years. In 1988 Henryk moved to the United States and settled down in Rockland County , N.Y. where he began working in construction who later became a proud owner of his construction business. He volunteered his time for many years as Vice President of Polish American Club in Mahwah N.J. and enjoyed working as a Sexton for Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church in Mahwah, NJ. Henryk had a big heart for everyone in his life. He was a jack of all trades and could fix anything. He was first to tell jokes and he never ran out of them. He loved spending time in his garden as well as his Koi pond. Henryk was a master in pickling his home grown cucumbers and always made sure no one left his house without a jar to go. But more than anything he lived for his family especially his three grandchildren. He would do anything to put a smile on their faces. He will be greatly missed by his friends, family, and church family. He is survived by his beloved wife Miroslawa Mostek, two loving daughters Justyna Mostek with her fiancé Przemyslaw Niedzwiedz , Alicja Mostek-Zienkiewicz with her husband Pawel Zienkiewicz, mother Cecylia Mostek ( Garnek), sister Barbara Mogila with her husband Jerzy, mother in law Barbara Wnek, three grandchildren Madison, Preston, Ashton. Henryk was predeceased by his father Jozef Mostek and father in law Tadeusz Wnek. Visitation: Wednesday, June 8, 4:00 – 8:00 PM, Van Tassel Funeral Home, 337 Belleville Ave, Bloomfield, NJ 07003. Funeral Mass: Thursday, June 9, 2:00 PM, Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, 47 Island Rd, Mahwah, NJ 07430 followed by Interment at the Cemetery in Skalbmierz, Poland.
